Summer Trip to LA – The Beach

September 9, 2010

On the last day, we headed to the beach.

The stewardess was really nice and gave the kids a coloring book to keep them occupied on the flight home.

Summer Trip to LA – Day Trips

September 6, 2010

One of the first things we did when we were in town was drive down to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Nicole and Andrew live nearby and joined us for the day.

Andrew and Leah checking out the meerkats.

Tram ride to see all the wildlife.

We also went to the LA Natural History Museum to see the dinosaur exhibit….which we soon discovered was closed for renovations. The kids had fun seeing the other exhibits instead. Evan especially liked seeing the live bugs!

Summer Trip to LA – Tully Farm

September 3, 2010

Evan, Leah and I went to LA last month to visit nana and grandpa Tully. Evan and Leah helped grandpa with the gardening.

Evan got to collect fresh eggs from the hen house.

Evan finally agreed rode a horse for the first time. He has always been cautious around big animals. This was a HUGE step for him.

Leah watching her big brother. She has no fear and joined him on the next ride.

Painting rocks with grandpa.

Around the House

August 31, 2010

I have been following a new blog recently. Ashley Ann is a professional photographer and mom of 4. A couple years ago she decided it was just too tricky to juggle both, and now just focuses on her kids. She kept her blog going keeping everyone up-to-date on her kids’ lives. It is chock full of some really wonderful images of her children. This inspired me. I decided that since I own a big fancy camera, I should really use it for more than just clients. So the other day I took some quick portraits of the kids around the house. I have not been very good at staying current with this blog, but it is my hope to post A LOT more often.

Evan’s sweet smiling did not last long.

Bentley always nearby.

Little Leah is always a ham.

At the Park & Leah’s Apron

April 13, 2010

The apron Evan uses is Eric’s from when he was little. His mom made it for him. I loved the idea, and since Leah didn’t have an apron, I decided to make one for her. I love how it turned out (and the cost – $1.50 for materials!)

The kids and I went to the preserve last month with some friends. We had fun bird watching, walking on the trails and playing in the creek.
